Học sinh Hong Kong đạt điểm toán nhất thế giới
Một học sinh ở Hong Kong vừa giành điểm tuyệt đối trong cuộc thi toán quốc tế dành cho học sinh trung học.
Anthony Leung tham gia kỳ thi IGCSE tháng 6 năm ngoái khi cậu mới 15 tuổi. Leung vừa hay tin cậu vượt qua hàng nghìn học sinh khác và đạt điểm cao nhất thế giới.
“Tôi đã sốc. Thật ngạc nhiên và dĩ nhiên cả hạnh phúc nữa. Bố mẹ tôi rất vui và một chúc ngạc nhiên nhưng cũng như tôi, họ không tin nổi điều đó”, cậu bé nói.
Phát ngôn viên trường cậu bé học cho biết họ đã nhận được chứng chỉ từ Đại học Cambridge chứng nhận Leung đạt điểm cao nhất thế giới trong bài thi toán IGCSE.
IGCSE là bài thi dành cho học sinh từ 14 đến 16 tuổi theo học chương trình quốc tế, trong đó có thống kê, lượng giác và hình học.
Leung cho biết cậu không chuẩn bị nhiều cho kỳ thi đó. “Nó không khó lắm nhưng rõ ràng là khá thách thức. Nhưng vì tôi không chỉ tham dự có một kỳ thi, nên tôi không chuẩn bị nhiều lắm”, cậu nói.
Leung không phải là học sinh ưu tú duy nhất ở Hong Kong bởi bằng cấp và trình độ học vấn được coi là ưu thế cạnh tranh ở hòn đảo này. Tháng trước, một cặp song sinh 10 tuổi ở Hong Kong giành được điểm A trong bài thi toán IGCSE vốn dành cho những học sinh ít nhất là 14 tuổi.
